Online Course "Innovations In Treatment And Management Of Drug-Resistant TB" By WHO CC Latvia
On September 20-22 and 27-28, 2021, the WHO CC for Research and Training in Management of MDR TB held an international online course "Innovations in treatment and management of drug-resistant TB”, which was attended by three specialists from the Arkhangelsk Oblast and one from the Komi Republic.
The course covered issues related to the tuberculosis action plan for the WHO European Region, the global strategy and goals for the prevention, treatment and control of TB, the epidemiology of TB, MDR/XDR-TB, TB-HIV globally and in the European region, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on TB control, medicines for the treatment of MDR-TB, adverse reactions, infection control and much more. The course received the highest rating based on the results of the WHO CC questionnaire.
In total, 25 specialists from Russia, Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan took part in the course. Participation in the course was done with the support of the International Tuberculosis Foundation LHL International.
