The First Year Of The "Syktyvkar – A Territory Free From TB" Project Is Complete

The feature of the project  in Syktyvkar is that it adapted the positive experience of colleagues from the project "Severodvinsk - A City Free from TB" on the detection and treatment of latent tuberculosis infection. Specialists of the Republican TB dispensary supported the idea of active LTI and TB case finding and early modern treatment.

We are glad that our project has made a positive contribution to the development of outpatient technologies – 74 people were treated at home, contacting their doctor or nurse by video every day, a medical workers visited 118 people daily at home and 58 people were treated at a hospital day bed!

According to colleagues from Syktyvkar, patients (and there are more than 200 of them) appreciated the advantages of new forms of outpatient treatment for the opportunity to save time, finances and morale. In 2021, the duration of treatment at a round-the-clock hospital decreased to 1 month, which was hard to imagine 5 years ago!

The support with food kits and drugs that stop adverse reactions has become an incentive to cure for patients Experts say there is a lower number of treatment interruptions compared to previous years.

Also, the year 2021 pleased us with the fact that both we and our partners got used to working online, having adapted to the "coronavirus era", and were even able to hold some meetings physically.
