Dissemination of the experience of the Arkhangelsk Oblast in providing TB care
On November 19-23, 2018, a specialist of TB dispensary of the city of Vorkuta (the Republic of Komi) completed training program in Arkhangelsk regional TB dispensary. D. Perkhin, Head of the Dispensary, O. Sveshnikova, Deputy, specialists of the main departments of the dispensary shared their experience and knowledge.

Scientific Conference “Modern approaches in diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis”
On November 8, 2018 at the Sanatorium Named After M.N. Favorskaya a conference for pediatricians of the southern part of the oblast "Modern Approaches in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Tuberculosis" was held. The conference was attended by Elena Nikishova Professor of the Department of Phthisiopulmonology of NSMU and Olga Zolotaya phthisiatrician of the Arkhangelsk TB Dispensary.

Together We Live and Breathe! Summing Up the Results of the Presidential Grant
On November 8th the closing Round table within the framework of the project "Live and Breathe", funded by the presidential grant, in Krasnoborsk was held. The Round table was attended by more than 50 participants, mainly from pediatric and pedagogical community of the Arkhangelsk region. Olga Zolotaya, Arkhangelsk TB Dispensary Child TB Doctor and Elena Nikishova, Professor of the Department "Phthisiopulmonology", NSMU were invited to the event.

Partner Meeting LHL International How to find the missing cases of tuberculosis?
On October 28, 2018, LHL international initiated a meeting with LHL international partners which was held in the Hague. The meeting was devoted to the challenges of TB control facing the world community, including the partners of LHL International: to find missing people with TB, accounting for more than 40 million people globally according to WHO, that are individuals affected by TB but are either not diagnosed, treated or included in the public health reporting system and continue spreading the disease in population.
From 24 to 27 October 2018, the 49th World Lung Health Conference was held in The Hague (Netherlands). The conference was attended by Nina Nizovtseva, Aleksandra Avdeeva, representatives of the EB Fund; Andrey Maryandyshev, chief non-staff TB specialist of the Arkhangelsk Oblast and the North-West Russia; Elena Bogdanova, participant of the Operational Research course; Sergey Vodopyanov, Head Doctor of the Republican TB Dispensary of the Komi Republic.

The work of the EB Fund in Syktyvkar
The EB Fund has been carrying out intensive work: some adjustments were made in the implementation of activities in Russian-Norwegian program "Stop TB in the North-West Russia in our lifetime" for the remaining period of the year in the Arkhangelsk region. Monitoring of the project "Reduce the burden of tuberculosis in Komi Republic " was prepared together with Norwegian partners.

We are for a healthy childhood!
The summer weather is magnificent in Arkhangelsk, kids and children spend their holidays in camps and recreational institutions of the Oblast. In July 2018, Sasha Avdeeva, Manager of the Easy Breathing Fund, organized and held classes "I'm not afraid of tuberculosis!" in some children's recreational institutions.
Cooperation of the Arkhangelsk Oblast, The Norwegian Heart and Lung Patient Organization and the LHL international tuberculosis foundation has been going on for more than 20 years. The nature and direction of cooperation have changed over time. Since 2014, the five-year international program "Stop TB in the North-West Russia in our lifetime" has been implemented.

International cooperation in the field of health goes on!
On June 7-8, 2018 in Arkhangelsk, within the framework of the Nordic Council of Ministers' cooperation with the North-West Russia, an interregional conference with international participation "Interaction of public health institutions as a condition for development of HIV infection services at the primary health care level" was held. EB Fund took part in it.

On May 31, the EB Fund participated in the event called "Health Town" organized by the Arkhangelsk Center for Medical Prevention for residents and guests of Arkhangelsk. This event was attended by more than 200 people.

Medical workers of the Arkhangelsk TB dispensary are studying English!
On April 19, a monthly course started in the Arkhangelsk TB dispensary for teaching English language to medical staff working in the field of tuberculosis.
This 10 lesson course was developed and conducted by managers-translators of the EB Fund Alexandra Avdeeva and Irina Afanasenkova.

Strengthening the competence of specialists of the Komi Republic
On May 22-24 two trainings were held in Syktyvkar for Syktyvkar anti-tuberculosis service workers and districts of the Komi Republic: 1. "Organization of infection control in anti-tuberculosis institutions" (by Vlasova N.A.); 2. "Teaching skills of self-presentation" (by Avdeeva A.A.).

10 to 13 April, 2018 EB Fund representatives Nizovtseva N. I. and Avdeeva A.A. visited Republican dispensary to provide assistance in the implementation of B1702 project activities. Cooperation continues!
From 26 to 30 March, within the framework of the Russian-Norwegian project “Reduce the Burden of TB in the Komi Republic” a training of the specialists from Pechora, Vorkuta and Republic TB Dispensaries was organized to combat tuberculosis, based on Russian and International experience and successfully implemented in the Arkhangelsk Oblast.
