Health Tent

       EB Fund keeps its energy up while implementing the projects of its Stop TB program.

    Success of the “Forewarned is Forearmed” project goes on involving more cities and districts, advocating for healthy lifestyle and spreading knowledge about TB, HIV and other diseases prevention.

     31 May 2016 Novodvinsk hosted a street campaign dedicated to the World TB Day. This campaign was organized by EB Fund, Novodvinsk Hospital, Novodvinsk Recreation Center and Novodvinsk authorities. EB Fund set a Health Tent in the central park. This Tent provided citizens with blood tests (glucose, cholesterol), Smokelyzer. Volunteers from a volunteer center “Andromeda” and a Cadet Corps of School#7 distributed info leaflets on healthy lifestyle, smoking consequences, TB, HIV and other diseases prevention. Similar to last year, Health Tent made a hit with the public. More than 100 persons did tests. All those who needed more examination were directed to the hospital.  

      It was nice news that one woman, who smoked throughout her life, gave up smoking a month ago and a Smokelyzer test showed green! It meant only the fact that her lungs were free from CO.  This green light produced so many positive emotions in this woman – she was happy to learn that she beat this life threatening habit! It so that tobacco abuse kills 6 mln people around the world annually!!!
