HC is Back to Arkhangelsk

4-8 April 2016 Northern State Medical University was chosen again as a place for Health Communication training. Coaches Hedvig Amdal, representative of LHL International (Norway, Oslo) and Svetlana Kornyakova, child psychologist from the Krasnoborsk Sanatory (Russia, Kransnoborsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast) Berthe Stanberg, Advisor/Program Coordinator  from LHLI, was an observer.

   The training included health workers of TB service of the Arkhangelsk Oblast, AIDS Center, psychoneurological Dispensary. 19 participants studied first part of the training which consisted of 8 chapters. More than that, participants took part in role plays (health worker, patient, observer), did special exercises.

     The seminars are aimed at improvement of their communication skills, resilience, reducing stigma, better understanding with patients, better adherence, lower defaults and successful treatment.

     One of the main aspects of the training was prevention of emotional burnout.

     Next part of the training is planned on 1-3 June 2016.
