Health Tent in Yemetsk

Healthy lifestyle, smoking cessation, lung&heart disease prevention campaign took place in Yemetsk, Kholmogorsky District on 16. July during a local event "Brides’ Fair”. Health workers of the Yemetsk Hospital, EB Fund, Kholmogorsky District and Yemetsk authorities conducted a Healthy Tent activity within the project “Forewarned is forearmed”. This Tent provided local residents with glucose blood test, blood pressure test, Smokelyzer test.
Approximately 200 persons visited our Tent. More then 100 persons checked the level of glucose. 10 out of them showed increased levels of glucose in the blood. We provided consultations on Helathy Lifestyle to all guests of the Health Tent. Persons with increased levels of glucose should apply for further examination at the hospital as they are in the diabetes high risk group. 

More then 100 persons checked lungs on CO. We should admit that the most dangerous indicators appeared in women. “Brides’ Fair" guests received info materials on healthy lifestyle, brochures “10 myths about smoking”, lung diseases and TB prevention, “TB is Curable” booklets, Physical exercises for people with respiratory diseases, invitations to fluorography, HIV/AIDS prevention leaflets.
