"Check Your Health" in Turdeyevo Settlement

13 September in the Turdeyevo settlement was dedicated to the «Check Your Health!» campaign under the international program “Stop TB in North Western Russia in Our Lifetime”.  EB Fund team and Novodvinsk hospital team organized mobile medical care for the dwellers of remote Turdeyevo settlement.  Everybody had an opportunity to have a doctor’s appointment and have glucose blood test, cholesterol test, fluorography. EB Fund representatives shared info about hazards of smoking and other bad habits, necessity of regular fluorography, arterial blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol levels, healthy diet, other concepts of healthy lifestyle, Smokelyser tests.  There were 4 medical workers engaged in the campaign: two doctors and two nurses.

The campaign brigade has defined pathological changes in lungs in 6.3% of examined through fluorography. 22% of examined had increased glucose level in blood, 25% had increased cholesterol level in blood, 34% had increased amount of CO in lungs. Total number of examined was 63. People with deviations were offered to have additional examination at the Novodvinsk hospital.

Volunteers and activists of the Veterans’ Council has been a helping hand in the campaign.
