We Keep on Fighting!

On January 30, 2018 in Severodvinsk TB Department of Hospital No.1 there was a meeting of healthcare workers, which summed up the work of TB Service in 2017, set goals and objectives in 2018. It was stated that over the past 5 years, thanks to the joint effort of medical society, authorities and public organizations epidemiological situation on TB improved greatly. The most modern techniques were applied in treatment and diagnostics of this infection. Specialists of TB offices carried out effective prevention work. In 2017 Severodvinsk continued to attract people to respiratory organs examination (for free, without any documents). A phthisiatrician and a pulmonologist consulted people who sought medical advice. During the campaign "Together Against TB!" thousand people who didn’t have fluorography for 2 years were invited for an additional chest x-ray. There is a Smoking Cessation Office in the Department. In 2017 this Office was attended 8 times more in comparison with the previous year - 2016. In 2017 after conducting of group and individual seminars 57 people quit smoking. The whole set of anti-TB activities held in recent years at the Department and in Severodvinsk in General, will be continued in 2018. Special attention will be payed to reducing the number of delays in the detection of tuberculosis and treatment of all patients with extensively drug-resistant TB.
