49th Union World Lung Health Conference - New Challenges and New Solutions to Eliminate Tuberculosis Globally

From 24 to 27 October 2018, the 49th World Lung Health Conference was held in The Hague (Netherlands). The conference was attended by Nina Nizovtseva, Aleksandra Avdeeva, representatives of the EB Fund; Andrey Maryandyshev, chief non-staff TB specialist of the Arkhangelsk Oblast and the North-West Russia; Elena Bogdanova, participant of the Operational Research course; Sergey Vodopyanov, Head Doctor of the Republican TB Dispensary of the Komi Republic.


This year, the main topics of the conference were human rights. The Hague, as the global capital of justice, has become the country where the global TB control event took place.


The conference addressed universal health issues, problems of access of vulnerable groups to TB care, including the need to reduce the price of anti-tuberculosis drugs, tuberculosis combined with HIV, digital technologies, drug resistance issues and many others.


The conference was attended by more than 4,000 representatives from different countries and all continents of our planet.
