The Final Year of Implementation: “Reduce The Burden of Tuberculosis in the Komi Republic”

A number of meetings were conducted from 15 to 17 July 2019 in Syktyvkar, at the Republican TB Dispensary, between the EB Fund Chair Nina Nizovtseva, Deputy Minister of the Komi Republic Igor Maklakov, Head Doctor of the tuberculosis Dispensary Sergey Vodopyanov, the participants of the project team - Ekaterina Zhiglova, Olga Mayorova and other workers of the dispensary.

The meeting covered such issues as provision of TB care to residents of the Republic of Komi with the use of modern patient-oriented technologies — introduction of digital health elements at the outpatient stage of tuberculosis treatment, home-based treatment, etc.

The problem of better tuberculosis, tuberculosis and HIV monitoring in the Komi Republic was discussed as well which included operation of the computer program “IniT-TB” in health facilities.

“Reduce the burden of tuberculosis in the Republic of Komi” for 2019-2020 was considered in detail and the deadlines for the components implementation were determined.

This gives us hope that in the future, thanks to the collaboration of health leaders, public organizations and the population, tuberculosis will be eliminated, as called for by the World Health Organization!
