Capacity Building In Health Workers Within The Project "Severodvinsk - A City Free From Tuberculosis"

On January 25, a training course "Innovative Approaches to TB Treatment" for specialists of the tuberculosis service of the Arkhangelsk oblast was launched, which will last until January 30, 2021. The training is being carried out in the remote mode on the MOODLE platform and is organized jointly with the Northern State Medical University, the international organization "Doctors Without Borders", the Arkhangelsk Clinical Tuberculosis Dispensary and the Easy Breathing Charity Fund.

Course moderators: prof. A.O. Maryandyshev, prof. E.I. Nikishova.

The course will cover the following topics:

 

• Up-to-date data on the prevalence of drug-resistant tuberculosis

• Innovations in chemotherapy for drug-resistant tuberculosis

• Innovative approaches to the diagnosis of tuberculosis

• Adverse side effects of new TB drugs

• Chemotherapy for drug-resistant tuberculosis in patients with HIV-infection

• Preventive treatment of tuberculosis

 

On January 26, within the framework of this course, a coordination council was held on the implementation of the project "Severodvinsk - a City Free of Tuberculosis". Elena Nikishova, Natalia Vlasova, Nina Nizovtseva presented reports on the implementation of activities since the start of the project - from June 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020.

Work on the project is designed for three years.
