The results of the work of the department in 2020 were summed up, the difficulties that the team faced in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic were considered.
Natalya Vlasova, head of the department, noted in her speech that in 2020 the epidemiological situation with tuberculosis in the city of Severodvinsk has worsened. Mortality from this infection has increased due to the late treatment of patients for medical care. The number of new cases of the disease has increased.
Despite the restricted working environment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the quality of patient care has not deteriorated though. New treatment regimens, new tuberculosis drugs were used. The department's specialists continued attracting the population from high risk groups to examination. Examined patients who had latent tuberculosis infection received treatment.
Nina Nizovtseva shared the results of cooperation with the TB dispensary department of the Severodvinsk City Hospital No. 1 under the project “Severodvinsk - a City Free from Tuberculosis”.
The main project activities - Examination of the high risk groups, treatment of tuberculosis and latent tuberculosis infection with the use of new drugs and new treatment regimens, the development of patient-oriented technologies (creating comfortable conditions for treating patients without isolating them from their social environment), professional development of medical workers - completed in 2020 despite the COVID19 pandemic.
Rimma Kartashova summed up the activities of the department in the past year: despite the difficulties that arose in connection with quarantine measures, the department worked well, solving the tasks set for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients.
The Head Doctor thanked the team and wished them further success in their work.
