Russian-Norwegian Pilot Project Syktyvkar - A Territory Free From Tuberculosis Is Moving On
30.04.2021
An important part of the project is capacity building of medical workers in tSyktyvkar on diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis. Primary health care workers are engaged in early detection of tuberculosis and examination of high risk groups. The timely diagnosis and treatment of this infectious disease depends on their competence and consistency of their work.
From 20 to 30 April 2021 a training course Modern Organization of Tuberculosis Care for GPs for general practitioners of Syktyvkar was organized by the EB Fund and Northern State Medical University.
The main goal of the program is to strengthen competence of GPs (family medicine) in detection and prevention of tuberculosis, including among PLHIV, and in other high risk groups as well as participation in treatment of non-contagious TB patients with tuberculosis.
The knowledge gained will help the medical community to bring closer the victory over tuberculosis in the capital of the Komi Republic, reducing the incidence of this infection to the lowest figures m and ensure that no one dies from tuberculosis!
